This past weekend was spent slugging through mud at the 30A Songwriter’s Festival. This festival started 7 years ago and is the coolest experience because you travel up and down the road in my town visiting all these hole-in-the-wall places, and inside will be these writers playing their music that happens to be Carrie Underwood’s latest hit, or Rascal Flatts number 1, or Christine Perri’s record shattering single. You get to hear the stories and magic behind the songs that I’ve fallen in love with, and it’s the best way to kick off my new year.
Most of the really good shows happen late at night, but this year was really exciting because Grace Potter played a set in the middle of the afternoon on the most beautiful day ever. It was so much fun to hang out with friends while rocking out to an amazing concert because Grace and her band know how to bring it. I wanted to wear something that would look cute while still being functional (and not get too dirty!). Since it was pretty chilly out, I had a feeling that layers would be my friend so I layered up with this simple striped tee and adorable poncho. I also had to have a stylish hat for all that sun! I knew the grass would be muddy, because what great festival doesn’t have muddy grass? So I pulled out my favorite rainboots for the occasion.
I had such a fun weekend spent listening to great music!
Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to use my camera inside the venue, but I did snap a few pics with my phone!
