Sometimes I like to switch it up from my usual relaxed style and try something new. This preppy look caught my eye at Target, and I had to piece this outfit together. I’ve been looking for a cute mustard sweater, and when I found this one I loved how soft it was. Also, the pattern on these pants is one of my favorite’s right now (it’s the pattern of my phone case too!) and I loved how they had the cigarette pant style. The shoes are just adorable and this necklace is a piece my friend Christopher made. He’s an unbelievable jewelry designer and his pieces are to die for. I’ve been wearing this necklace on repeat lately with anything and everything it’ll go with (which is basically everything, because hello black!).
This look is perfect for looking totally stylish during a busy work day, or stepping up your school style game. I think the necklace adds just enough edge to make it unique, and I’ve been loving wearing this look on days that I want to be effortlessly chic. Add a leather jacket for a late dinner date and you’ll be set all day long. I love taking midday work breaks by picking up a tea at the local coffee shop and having a reading break. I’ve been reading The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert and love it. I also just picked up her brand new book called Big Magic, which is based on creative living beyond fear, and I am so excited to start reading it.
I think Target has one of my favorite seasons of outfits and homeware yet, focused on the plaid and warm tones, that a simple to-do list trip turns into three hours of me browsing through the store picking up amazing finds. I’ve already re-stocked my living room with adorable pillows and copper items galore, and now I’m slowly picking up all the Adam Lippes for Target items before they sell out, which is happening super fast, and I can’t seem to get my hands on enough of them.
It’s a plaid, plaid world.
