South Walton Fashion Week x Vivo

Exaggerated necklines, towering ballgowns, gorgeous models. All of these and more is what sums up the fashion week that takes place in my little area known as South Walton. It’s a multi-day event that showcases the area’s growing fashion scene, stylists, and emerging designers. Locals get to have a weekend of fun while seeing the areas latest trends, and watch friends model the looks all up on stage themselves. Created by the Cultural Arts Alliance, SWFW also raises funds for the Art For All program, which provides much-needed funding to artists, students, teachers and arts organizations.

I wanted to give you a recap of some of my favorite moments and looks from the night, so get ready for picture overload!

Since starting this blog, I’ve learned so much more about fashion and I’ve already defined my style more than ever in the last few months. It’s been a fun process that I know I’ve only scratched the surface on, so I was thrilled when I found out I’d be going to the fashion week for a night.

I was excited to see some of the local designers I love stretching their artistic visions into runway styles and fall in love with new designers just coming on the scene.

I went to the second night of fashion week, and the shows on this night absolutely blew me away!

There was a great mix of larger retail stores like Tommy Bahama and Willow paired with independent designers like Nicole Paloma, and some really unique emerging designers too!

It was so cool to see the models, some even friends, up there walking struttin’ their stuff too!

Vivo Spa Salon, the venue sponsors and head of hair and makeup, kindly let me go backstage and take a few pictures of the getting ready process. Vivo is located right in my neck of the woods, Rosemary Beach, and is absolutely amazing. The staff are the best, the stylists are great, and the spa services are top class.

I feel like I’m in the salon so much that the staff are my friends, so it was amazing to see some of them in their element at the show.

They were killing it with the hairstyles and makeup looks, and they enhanced the models’ natural beauty beautifully.

Nicole Paloma’s designs closed out the night with a bang, with the collection focused around earthy tones and animal inspired textures. The music was dark and the presentation of the looks was pure perfection. She was greeted at the end with a standing ovation that was more than well deserved!

It’s always wonderful to support local events, especially now that so many new ones are popping up, and South Walton Fashion Week is a great one. It’s the perfect event to kick off a season filled with kickball games, the songwriter’s festival, the flutterby festival, and so many more wonderful things happening here at the beach.
